An angel, then, according to Webster, is a separate
entity from man, in fact, superior to man. This would
mean that human beings don't die and become angels.
But, being the spiritual beings we potentially are, we
can, and some of us do, become Spirit Guides.

The word Angel literally means messenger. Since a
messenger needs a message and someone to give it to,
we can assume an angel is a messenger from God to
man. Why does man need a messenger? For the same
reason we need sunglasses to look at the sun, or a
transformer to convert high voltages of electricity into our
homes. If we cannot even withstand the raw energy of
God's creations, how could we possibly withstand Him,
their Creator?
While angels are messengers on specific missions
from God, spirit guides are more personal. They have
selected you personally, and are always there to
assist and guide you. They are your "guardian angels".
